Fractal Textures I

Evolution of Texture

Studying the California Rose Mallow, an investigation into a proposed morphology of the plant's form and skin. How could this plant change (or could have changed) over time to adapt to its surroundings and survive through periods of drought, heat, cold, predation? Using this thought process as a generator for new skin types, six evolutions were designed as adaptations of texture.

All evolutions were designed in modo, contoured and numbered in 123DMake, fabricated by a Universal Laser Systems ILS12.75 laser cutter, and assembled by hand.
